Scaphoid Cast

Personal hygiene can be difficult with a cast. Keeping the cast in a protective bag or cover is recommended. It is not easy particularly with a lower limb cast to have a shower or bath. Sometimes a water resistant stool or chair in a shower can allow enough support to wash comfortably. With full leg (above knee) casts, sponge bathing may be more appropriate as it is more difficult to manage.

Plaster of Paris casts must be kept dry.
